同事說 I don’t have the bandwidth for this right now，不是網路太慢，而是「我現在沒有餘力接這件事」。bandwidth 是一個把「沒空」講得比較專業、比較不帶情緒的字。

bandwidth 原意是「頻寬」，也就是網路一次能傳送的資料量。Merriam-Webster 另收錄了一個引申義：做某件事或思考某件事所需要的情緒或心智容量。在職場上，它通常指：

常見句型：

have the bandwidth to + 動詞：Do you have the bandwidth to take on another client?
bandwidth for + 名詞：We don’t have bandwidth for a redesign this quarter.

語氣中性、略帶科技業色彩。它的好處是把焦點放在「容量」，不是「意願」，讓婉拒聽起來比較客觀。台灣上班族常說的「我現在滿檔」「這週真的擠不出來」，用 bandwidth 表達會比直接說 I’m too busy 更有溝通空間，因為它自然引出「那要調整什麼」的討論。

不加 a：多半當不可數名詞，說 I don’t have the bandwidth 或 I don’t have bandwidth，不說 a bandwidth。
